I was looking for something for my lower back pain after riding. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical whenever you see all five star reviews.

Boy was I wrong about being skeptical!
It's almost magical how the improvement is the instant you take off on the bike after installing it!

Instructions were pretty straightforward.

The only area I ran into problems with and sawing the foam, is trying to figure out the 'angle' of the knife to get it to meet up where the bracket drilled holes are underneath! I actually cut a little slit in the plastic underneath just so I was able to see where it was lining up at.

So that was a bit of a bear! But after being persistent and then going for a first ride I could not believe how comfortable it was! It has not been THAT comfortable since I bought the bike!

One other magical improvement for me was :
EVERY SINGLE STOP I come to, they are perfect! All on an even keel!

It started doing that without any effort the instant the backrest was installed!
I do not know if it is from a slight difference in center of gravity from the mass of the backrest making the bike have a perfect cg......
Or
If it's automatically improving the posture of the rider to where he's sitting correctly now and probably not having to put pressure on the handlebars to support his back when he comes to a stop!

Every single one has been perfectly smooth last few days.

So I would like to read if others notice it also? Stops will be smoother and straight upright

I received and installed my backrest onto my 2016 Goldwing. Installation was fairly simple.I took a few rides around the block getting it adjusted, then just got back from a 400 mile day. The backrest is great and recommended far above the OEM. The customer service is superior to most companies I have dealt with.

I have had a driver backrest on my bikes since 2005.And they were bought from Harley Davidson. And they were OK. I just bought a 2022 Honda Gold Wing Tour DCT.I spoke with Andy and Dan at Utopia Products. They were wonderful to work with. The Utopia backrest is extra wide, and it fills you whole lower back. It is so comfortable. It feels like you are sitting in a lazy boy chair. It holds you in position, so your back is supported for short or long rides. Also, you do not have to hold on to the handlebars as tight. Because you will not move backwards. So, you do not grip the handlebars as tight. This is the backrest you want to buy, VERY COMFORTABLE. Once again, I would like to thank Andy and Dan for all of their help. This is a great company to deal with.

I had a Utopia on my 2003 Goldwing that I put on it in 2005. When I sold the bike last year the bike and backrest still looked new 80,000mi later. I recently bought a BMW K1600GTLE and wanted another back rest so I got another Utopia. I have a bad thoracic spine and this backrest serves me well. My girl also appreciates the bag that attaches to the rear of the backrest. Customer Service is fantastic. Thank you Andy!
