“The UTOPIA” Built-in Driver Backrest in material and thread to closely match your stock seat. Can be adjusted up/down as well as forward & back to fit your height and riding position. Pivots while riding for natural position and folds forward to allow passenger to mount & dismount. Easy to install with minimal tools. Available in recommended “Comfort” pad for optimal, long-riding support as well as shorter “Sport” pad.

Installation & Other Info:
  • This model does require that you unstaple and fold back material & foam from seat pan in order to install mounting bracket. When reupholstering, the bar will reveal where you need to cut a small line in the material for the bar to pass through. Please be assured, thousands of riders have installed this without difficulty and the material will not run or fray. To say I’m impressed is an understatement. The Utopia back rest has added a new level of comfort and confidence to my riding experience. I underwent back surgery a few years ago and have cautious in my endeavors since. I recently purchased a Honda VTX 1300 Retro and have enjoyed its style but after a while my back began to “hurt”. Since the installation of the Utopia back rest I have not experienced any fatigue. I am so very thankful that a friend, who installed one on his bike, told me about Utopia. Even if you don’t suffer from back issues I believe you will benefit by the comfort and craftsmanship of a Utopia back rest, they are built by experts for your comfort!

I love the stock look of this backrest! I followed the directions exactly and the install was easy. Gave it a 260mile shake down and its just great! Should of done this years ago. Thank you utopia for a well made and engineered product!

Just got around to installing my backrest. Perfect as can be. No idea why I waited so long. It is a comfort level I had no idea was possible. Thank you for your attention to detail! Highly recommended!!!

CANADA - 2018-07-28 -I just installed my THIRD Backrest, expedited to me by Linda. It matches my new 2018 perfectly and only took about half an hour to place. It is tons better than the tiny Honda Backrest and at a lower price. As Long as I keep getting new bikes, UTOPIA will be the only unit up against my butt. Thanks Linda and company. You, your product and your service all ROCK.... Look for my comments on the GL Forum.. the Least I can do..
