Readers; Here are the Views of this Product from one who is 'wrench challenged' I bought this for my '08 Burgman 4oo. I was more than skittish of cutting and drilling the expensive seat; but in the end, I did get it on. The directions are very good. I would say, the seat can be left on the Burgman, in fact its easier with it in place. You can see where the parts go, and the seat does not move when you drill. In the end, it works very well, even with a riding coat with a back armor plate. BUY ONE for yourself and see.

Have installed other brands for friends. This is my fourth personal Utopia and is a very superior backrest. Won't buy any other!

I had my doubts, but came away from this experience by asking what many other reviewers have. Why did I wait so long? Easy to install, well designed and constructed product, and it is SOOOOO comfortable going down the road! Well worth the investment. Bob was very responsive when I emailed a question, and took his time to explain the answer. My order was confirmed promptly, and shipping was actually a bit earlier than promised. I'm ready for a couple long hauls this summer. Great product!
